Cartridge heater/ BEUMYONG technology.-E-347

Hi, this is BEUMYONG technology.
Today I would like to introduce cartridge heaters.

What is a cartridge heater?
The cartridge heater has a relatively simple structure consisting of a nichrome heating wire wound onto a ceramic bobbin, magnesium oxide (MgO) for insulation, a cylindrical metalsheath for preventing from high corrosion, lead wire and etc.

Features
Even though cartridge heaters have a small heating area, the highest heating temperature of standard type of heaters can be 600°Cat the surface of the heater and high-temperature type of heaters can be 871°C.

The resistance variation caused by the oxidation of heating wire is also low and its life cycle is long. Then the long-termoperationcould be possible under adverse conditions.

The lead wire coming out straight or in a right angle is made of high-conductivity nickel, and can be protected with braided silicone sleeves.

Insulation used to prevent the heating wire contacting the sheath is quite excellent and so any catastrophic short-circuit and electric shock could not be occurred.

Usage
Cartridge heaters as small sized are inserted snugly insidesmall holes drilled in the objects to be heated up such as metal molds, casting molds and heat plates, and then create and transfer the required heat to them.

The industries that commonly use cartridge heaters are a variety of areaincludingmolds, containers heating, plastic bag adhesion machines, plastic stacking and printing processes, medical equipment and etc.

Precautions
If cartridge heaters are operated in the air, an excessive heat condition results ina short-circuit and a fire.

Reaming processwhenmaking 300 mm or bigger of a hole is recommended for ensuring the required accuracy rate.

Maintaining the controlled situations where lead wires are notexposedtomoisture and liquid such as water or oil is recommended for preventing from a short-circuitand a leakage of electricity.
